From an architectural standpoint, the Colosseum is a great ellipse of about 188x156 m high and almost 50 m. The external facade is made up of four travertine floors, three of which are decorated with 80 arches supported by Ionic columns, Tuscan and Corinthian. The top floor has a rather compact wall in which there are 40 windows with small columns in the Corinthian style. Just the ledge of the last order was secured the tarp (velarium) that was used to repair the audience from sun and rain.
